Check out what our B2 (Upper Intermediate Class) wrote as an in-class project.
Last Friday, one class worked hard to write an email with recommendations for places to go and things to do in Miami. This was part of an activity taken from the unit which they completed last week.
Thank you Alex, Enith, Lucia, and Peter for your work on this. Great job!

Hello friends,
We are so happy to hear that you are thinking of coming to Miami! It is an exciting city with so many wonderful things to do and see. We are absolutely sure that you will love your time spent here in the Magic City, and we have provided several fantastic ideas for you in this email.
There are many places that might interest you. First of all, I’d like to recommend visiting South Beach, which is one of the most popular places for tourists. If you have extra time, don’t miss going to Crandon Park and historic Virginia Key Beach Park. Crandon Park will give you the taste of a beautiful Florida beach, and you can enjoy tennis and amusement centers. You can even try an eco-tour, which I like most, in this park. I’m sure these and other places won’t disappoint you. Even if you don’t have that much time, make sure you go there when you are in Miami.
Also, I know that you love art and style. Miami certainly has a modern style. For that reason, you should visit Wynwood Art District, which offers the opportunity to admire incredible wall paintings with the best contemporary street style. Just don’t forget to wear a hat and sunscreen. It is an open place! Furthermore, I recommend going to Vizcaya Museum and Gardens in Coconut Grove. This is the best sample of European art set in Miami. It is like a wonderland with opulent gardens and decorative works from the 18th and 19th centuries. For a very different experience, be sure to go to the Erotic Museum, a real Miami-style museum that fits perfectly in Miami Beach. Don’t miss taking pictures there, and be sure to bring your student ID because some places give students discounts. Finally, if you appreciate modern out, you really should check out Perez Museum in Downtown Miami.

Another of the many things that you can do in Miami is of course some very good and fun bar hopping. Be sure to go to all the different places that Wynwood offers, like Wynwood Tavern, where you can find an impressive variety of drinks and good vibes as you hang with your friends. You can also go to Brick House, where they have an amazing music system with headphones for everyone at the club to have their own experience. After checking out those local spots, you should go to Shots, which is one of the best places for having a crazy party with all the different types of shots. Also, of course don’t forget to take your photo at the beautiful art walls in Wynwood.
Finally, I recommend that you visit all of the malls in Miami, of course, if you like shopping. There are a lot of malls that you can go to here. First of all, if you like to buy expensive clothes, shoes, etc., you can go to Lincoln Road Mall on South Beach. There you can walk, eat, drink, and have a nice time. However, if you want to do a lot of shopping, you have many options, in all of the different cities near Miami. For example, there’s also one of the most popular malls visited by Latin tourists who come for shopping: Dolphin Mall. You can go to Dadeland Mall too and more malls than you can imagine.
If you have any questions, we’re here to help you. We look forward to seeing you soon, and we hope you have a fantastic time!
Warm regards,
